Cosmetic bottles are where clarity, neck precision and surface finish matter most. We run PET and PETG for glass-like transparency (up to 95% clarity), and PE for matte soft-touch lines. Every bottle is stretch-blown from in-house injection-molded pre-forms, so neck tolerance stays tight enough for lotion pumps, disc-tops and fine-mist sprayers to seat perfectly.

Matching the resin to the formula, not the mood board

Most cosmetic packaging problems start as a material decision made for visual reasons. PET is the default when you want clarity and a premium read at a sane unit cost, and it gives good barrier for most serums, toners and lotions. PETG steps up when the wall gets thick or the formula is more aggressive. Where the product is a strong acid, a strong alkali or a high-solvent formula, polyethylene is the honest answer even though it costs you the clarity.

The useful question to ask a supplier early is not which material is best but which one has been tested against something like your formula. A bottle that looks perfect and stress-cracks in month four is a far more expensive outcome than one that was slightly less glossy from the start.

We run a compatibility soak test with your actual product before tooling. It costs a few weeks and it is the cheapest insurance available on a cosmetic launch, because the failure mode it catches is invisible at the sampling stage.

Neck finishes, pumps and the closure decision

On a cosmetic line the neck finish quietly dictates your closure options for the life of the product. The finishes we run most are 18/410, 20/410, 24/410 and 28/410, and each supports a different set of droppers, pumps, sprayers and caps. Specifying the bottle before the closure is the single most common cause of a second sampling round.

The closure also carries most of the perceived quality. A lotion pump that dispenses cleanly and does not dribble, a dropper collar that seats without wobble, a cap that closes with a definite stop — these are the details a customer notices on the second use, long after the graphics have done their job. We test the assembled pack, not just the bottle.

Decoration is where a cosmetic bottle becomes branded: silk screen for crisp logos, hot stamping for metallics, spray coating for frosted or gradient finishes, and labelling for complex artwork. All of it runs in-house, which is what makes a five-colour design economical at cosmetic volumes rather than a special-order exception.

Sampling, MOQ and what a realistic launch looks like

More than 2,000 moulds are already in the library, so the fastest path to market is usually a stock bottle in your colour with your decoration — no tooling charge, no mould lead time, and samples in roughly 3–10 days. A private mould becomes the right answer when the shape itself is part of the brand, and we will tell you honestly when that point has arrived.

Minimums are 5,000 pcs for white, black and natural closures and accessories and 10,000 pcs for custom colours. Colour is matched in-house with masterbatch across semi-transparent, solid, pearl and high-gloss effects, and confirmed on a physical sample against your Pantone reference before mass production starts.

Capacity is 30+ production lines at up to 200,000 pcs per day across three plants, so volume is rarely the constraint — scheduling is. Give us the launch date and the forecast for the first three orders and we can hold capacity for the repeat, which is where most programmes actually get into trouble.

Which material should I choose for a transparent cosmetic bottle?+

PET is the default: high clarity, gas-tight and cost-effective. For premium serums that need better chemical resistance, step up to PETG. Neither should hold strong acids/alkalis or hot-fill products.

Can you match my brand color exactly?+

Yes. We color in-house with masterbatch (1–8% depending on the effect: semi-transparent, solid, pearl or high-gloss) and confirm against your Pantone reference with a physical sample before mass production.

How long does a custom cosmetic bottle take from artwork to delivery?+

On a stock mould, samples are typically ready in 3–10 days and production follows once the sample and colour are approved. A private mould adds tooling time, which is measured in weeks rather than days and depends on the complexity of the shape. The variable that surprises people is rarely the moulding — it is the number of approval rounds on colour and print. Sending a Pantone reference and print-ready artwork up front is the cheapest way to compress the schedule.

Can you help with the closure if I only have a bottle design?+

Yes, and it is better to involve us at that stage. The closure has to mate with the neck finish, and the neck finish is far easier to set while the bottle is still a drawing than after the tool is cut. Send us the bottle concept and how the product is dispensed — pumped, dropped, sprayed or poured — and we will propose a matched closure and liner, then sample the assembled pack so you approve what the customer will actually receive.

What certifications can you provide for cosmetic packaging?+

We hold ISO 9001 for the quality system and can supply FDA food-contact compliance documentation for the resin, SGS test reports, EU 10/2011 for food-contact plastics and GRS certification for PCR content. What matters is requesting the specific documents your market requires when you ask for the quote, because some of them are tied to a particular resin lot and are much harder to produce retroactively once a shipment has been made.
