Every guide below answers one buying decision, shows the trade-off in a table, gives you a checklist to run, and names the brief we need before we can quote.
A sourcing article explains what plastic bottles are. Five decisions, in the order they actually happen
A packaging project rarely fails on the bottle. It fails on sequence — a mold is cut before the closure is fixed, a deposit is paid before drawings exist, a sample is approved against a photo. The ten guides are grouped by the decision they belong to.

The anatomy of a buyer decision document
The fourteen items that turn a question into a quote
Whatever route you take, the same fourteen lines decide how fast and how accurately you get priced. The list is set out in full, with the reason for each line, in How to Request a Plastic Packaging Quote.

If you can answer six of the fourteen, send the enquiry anyway and say which ones are open. A project with four open items is normal; a project that assumes them is where the cost comes from.
What these guides deliberately do not do
Three things are left out on purpose, because a guide that fills them in is guessing.
- ▸A price list. Unit price follows resin weight, cavity count, decoration, colour and quantity. A published number would be wrong for almost every reader, so every page shows the structure of the price instead of a figure.
- ▸Invented lead times. Sampling from an existing mold typically runs 3–10 days. Everything longer than that is quoted against the actual geometry, the tooling route and the machine slot.
- ▸Certification claims. ISO 9001:2015 is the certification we hold. Test reports, material declarations, recycled-content records and market-compliance files are documents, not certifications, and every guide labels them that way.
What the guides do contain is what we would tell a buyer across a table: the decision, the trade-off, the checks, and the honest limits.

For buyers, brand owners, product managers and packaging engineers who are sourcing plastic bottles, jars, closures or dispensers and need to make a decision rather than read a definition.
Which guide should I read first?+

Do these guides apply to jars and closures as well as bottles?+
Yes. Neck and closure decisions, sampling, inspection and supplier evaluation apply to jars, caps, pumps, sprayers and droppers in the same way they apply to bottles. Capacity and dispenser guidance is written around bottles because that is where the variables are widest.
Do the guides give me prices?+
No, and deliberately so. Unit price depends on resin weight, cavity count, colour, decoration and quantity, so the guides show what drives the price and what to put in the brief. The quotation itself comes back against your actual specification.
Do I need a custom mold to buy from a Chinese factory?+
No. We hold 2,000+ stock molds across PET, PE, HDPE and PETG, and many projects are built on the closest match plus custom colour, decoration and closure. A private mold is for a shape no stock cavity provides or for an exclusivity requirement.
